The video clips on HIFF Interactive use a file format called .AVI, which stands for Audio Video Interleave.  If you are unable to view any of the Twisted Challenge video clips or any of the video clips in the clip library, you may need to install a browser "plug-in."  Sound complicated? It's not!

Plug-ins are tiny software programs that add functionality to your web browser. While your browser lets you view the images and text on most web pages, plug-ins add the capability to hear music or other sounds, watch full-motion video, or enjoy multimedia presentations.  In most cases the installation of Plug-ins are relatively simple.

There are different brands of plug-ins that do basically the same thing, show video clips.  The choice of plug-in depends on which browser and Operation System you are using.  For example a Windows 95 PC using Netscape might use QuickTime, or a Macintosh using Internet Explorer might choose the Windows Media Player.  Just make sure the plug-in supports your Operating System. 

Below is a list of different plug-ins that will enable you to view the video clips in .AVI format. You should select one of the four plug-ins.   Follow the link to that plug-in's homepage.  You may be required to give them some information about yourself, that's alright, they just want to know who is using their software. Download the plug-in, and follow the instructions on installing it to your computer. You will probably have to restart your computer for the plug-in to work correctly.
